First Messy Church opened on the last Wednesday of the month of May 2013. The theme was the Feast of Pentecost better known by many as Whit Sunday.

The children celebrated the Feast of Pentecost by holding a party for Messy Church, Penycae and celebrating the Pentecost the birthday of the Church. They had a birthday cake, party balloons, and decorated their own party cup cakes.

They learned about the wind of the spirit and blow painting was great fun as were the team games all relating to wind.

Members of Messy Church, from St Mary’s Johnstown came along to encourage and celebrate the opening of a new Messy Church.

Messy Church meets on the last Wednesday of the months in St Thomas Village Hall starting at 4.30 pm.  The children enjoy a light tea after an hour of activities which include stories, song, crafts when we ‘get messy’.
